It’s not my picture, but I did see a “Caution-Wet Floor” sign on one of our rain-drenched sidewalks this morning. Funny Friday.

This is a picture of me. *cough*
…it was a rough day.
We’re still not quite sure who won that struggle.

Though I cannot make today’s post Funny Friday, I decided Tuesday was sufficiently deserving of a good laugh. Not to mention that my head feels it has a midget with a hammer pounding its way out. My travel agent dad sent this to me a while ago (and Happy Birthday, brother dear!!):
After every flight, Qantas [...]

You Know You’re Moving

You know you’re a city-slicker moving to the country (what we consider to be the country) when:
1. Your parents are looking at a new lawnmower -a John Deere
2. You’re soon-to-be new neighborhood is called “Wagon Wheel”
3. No other homes can be seen from the backyard
4. Cows and corn will soon remind you less of road [...]

How To Write ‘Good’

Most of these suggestions I borrowed, and a few I made myself. Yay!
1. Always avoid alliteration.
2. Prepositions are not words to end sentences with. And don’t start a sentence with a conjunction.
3. Avoid clichés like the plague (they’re old hat).
4. Comparisons are as bad as clichés.
5. Employ the vernacular.
6. Eschew ampersands & abbreviation, etc.
7. Parenthetical [...]
Going Green

Funny Friday
A growing trend amongst businesses and companies lately has been to collaboratively “go green” (in other words, make changes within the workplace such as recycling and using earth-friendly products in an attempt to better the environment). This morning my dad, VP of Distribution (?) at an airline consolidation company, shot an e-mail to all of his [...]
Signs and Advertisements

Some funny signs and advertisements I’ve seen in the past several weeks:
A shampoo bottle promises: Up to 75% smoother hair in weeks! (how does one measure?)
Nothing says ‘Happy Holidays’ like something warm and crunchy.
If biscuits were supposed to crumble in your lap they’d be called “crumbluits”
Real Beauty is getting the giggles (I’m not quite sure [...]
